Single Reverse Printing

Single Reverse – Design is only printed on 1 side of the flag but shows through to the other sided in a reverse image. The majority of flags are created this way, including most state flags and corporate flags. A single reverse flag is lightweight and is most cost-effective. However, the back side of the single sided reverse flag will only have about 85% – 95% saturation. What that means is that the back side will look slightly faded.

Double Sided – Design reads correctly on both sides of the flag. Typically this flag is 2 single sided flags sewn back to back to make it double thickness. This type of flag is commonly hung horizontally indoors. Double sided flags are heavier than a single reverse flag and are not typically recommended for outdoor use.

The majority of all stock (military, state, country, religious, historical, etc) and custom printed flags are printed single reversed.  This is where the design is printed correctly on one side of the flag and the ink bleeds through the material so the design appears as a mirror image on the back or reverse side.

Double sided flags are available but are not always recommended for all sizes – reasons:

The cost of a double sided flag is usually close to, if not more than double the cost of a single reversed flag because it is literally two prints sewn back to back.  A liner is added on all double sided flags so the print will not show through to the other side. However, our company offers deeply discounted Double Sided Flag prices that cannot be found anywhere in the industry.

Double sided flags do not always fly as nicely as a single sided flag because they are very heavy.  If they do not fly properly you will not get the impact or advertising you are expecting.  However, double sided Bow Flags or TearDrop  flags will give you visibility from both sides continuously. This is because the flagpole holds the flag out with or without the wind, and we do recommend double sided Bow  and TearDrop  flags if you are trying to get the attention from two different areas.

At Trade Show Displays, we always tries to help our customers understand that although we can and do make double sided flags, we don’t recommend them on larger size flags because we believe you will not get the effect, life expectancy or cost effectiveness you will get with a flag that is printed single reversed if you are flying them outdoors in a traditional manner.
